Spring semester has arrived and Out and About is BACK! Read on for all the fun, cheap, and exciting events happening for the week around Boston or right here on campus!

January 13th: Men’s and Women’s Hockey Games

Northeastern has back to back men’s and women’s hockey games this Saturday! The women’s ice hockey team will be facing Boston College at noon and the men’s ice hockey team will be taking on Maine at 5pm. Both games will be in Matthews Arena and both teams will also be raising money for breast cancer research as part of the Skating Strides campaign.

January 14th: New England International Auto Show

Head to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center for the return of the New England Auto Show! From 10am-7pm you can enjoy seeing and learning about vehicles from almost 40 different companies, including Ferrari, Maserati, and Porsche. Adult tickets are $15 and can be purchased here.

January 15th: MLK Day Open House

Need something to do on your day off? From 10am-5pm you can go to the MFA for free to celebrate Dr. King and his legacy. You can view artwork celebrating Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement, enjoy music from a variety of performers all day long, and of course the amazing exhibits the MFA always has to offer!

January 16th: A Tribute to the Dream

Northeastern’s annual celebration of Dr. King, “A Tribute to the Dream: Expressions of Race and Identity in Society” is back! Enjoy free lunch, musical performances by Northeastern students, and a panel discussion on race and society. The event will be held in the 17th floor of East Village at noon and will be free.

January 17th: Truffle Making Workshop with Taza Chocolate

Love chocolate? Sign up for the Taza Chocolate Truffle Making Workshop at the Boston Public Market! The event will be from 6-7:30pm and tickets can be purchased here.

January 18th: Boston Celtic Music Festival

The 15th anniversary of the Boston Celtic Music Festival is happening all weekend long! On Thursday night you can head out to Club Passim in Cambridge to see the festival’s emerging artist showcase at 7pm. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased here.

January 19th: AllCapella 2018

Join 5 of Northeastern’s incredible ACapella groups, The Unisons, Distilled Harmony, The Downbeats, The Nor’easters, and Treble on Huntington, as they perform for Northeastern’s annual AllCapella event! The show will begin at 8pm and will be held in Blackman Auditorium. Tickets are free and are available on myNortheastern!
