There’s 349 days until Christmas 2017, but that doesn’t mean the 2016 holiday is over! Boston Winter, a new installment in City Hall Plaza, will continue festivities until the end of February. This complex includes a winding ice skating path, a holiday market, a pedal powered light-up tree and plenty of photo ops! Photos by Madeline Bilis.
The 11,000 square feet path is Boston’s first ever custom built ice skating rink that weaves around the giant Boston sign and main stage. Go on Friday nights for “Rock N’ Skate”, an evening event with a live DJ, games on ice and prizes! Check their calendar for ice skating lessons and more. Daily admission prices are $10 and skate rentals for $6.
Warm up afterwards at The Urban Lodge, a beer hall with various alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. Take a break and play some giant Jenga with friends before facing the cold again.
And of course, don’t forget to bring your camera or Polaroid and snap a cute memory of your trip with the signature marquee Boston sign! Standing over six feet tall, the brightly colored red and green sign is not to miss.
