New England Aquarium and Boston Harbor

Open for nearly 50 years, the New England Aquarium has become an iconic Boston landmark that you can’t miss! From penguins to sharks, thousands of aquatic animals call the Aquarium their home. Located right on the picturesque Boston Harbor, the Aquarium is an easy T ride from campus and within walking distance of the Faneuil Hall area.

The Aquarium’s unique design allows you to catch all of its 14 unique exhibits simply by walking around the facility in a circle. The Edge of the Sea Touch Tank and Shark and Ray Touch Tank allow you to get up close and personal with creatures like starfish, Atlantic rays, and epaullete sharks. Head outside to the seal exhibit and you may be lucky enough to see the seals interacting with their trainers and putting on a little show!

Check out the Simons IMAX Theatre for a unique cinematic experience on New England’s largest movie screen. There are three movies currently playing: Amazon Adventure 3D, Galapagos 3D: Nature’s Wonderland, and Great White Shark 3D. Adult tickets to the IMAX shows are $9.95 and tickets to the aquarium itself for adults are $27.95.

Be sure to set aside some time to check out the amazing area the Aquarium is located in! Walk around on the many docks next to the Aquarium to catch the beautiful views that Boston Harbor has to offer.
