NU Bucket List #64: Shakespeare on the Common
Attention all theater lovers! Want to enjoy some of Shakespeare’s greatest works live for FREE? Look no further than one of Boston’s most popular summer events, Shakespeare on the Common. This summer, the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is proud to present one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays, Romeo and Juliet!
Since 1996, Shakespeare on the Common has been a Boston summer tradition, with 20 unique plays performed! This year, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company will be performing Romeo and Juliet for its second time, starring John Zdrojeski as Romeo and Gracyn Mix as Juliet. The show will be sticking with a traditional interpretation, but the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company excels at making Shakespeare understandable to all!
Head to Boston Common near the Parkman Bandstand between July 19-August 6 to enjoy this event. Shows will begin at 8pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, and at 7pm on Sundays. Bring a blanket or a folding chair to sit on, or rent a chair for $5. Seating is first come first serve, so be sure to get there early to be close to the show!
Want a guaranteed spot up close to the stage? Make a donation of $75 or more to benefit the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and enjoy seating in the special Friends Section near the stage! Reserve Friends Section seating by clicking here.
