NU Bucket List #66: Newbury Street

Want great shopping, dining, and more all in one incredible place? Take a short walk from campus to the beautiful Newbury Street! There’s so much to see and do when strolling down these 8 blocks of historic brownstones, you’ll want to spend the whole day there. Learn about all that Newbury Street has to offer by reading on!

Newbury Street is home to both internationally recognizable brands such as H&M and Forever 21 and also to some iconic Boston-only boutiques and designer shops. Be sure to check out one of Newbury Street’s most notable shops, Newbury Comics! All your poster, comic, and other fun fan merch needs will be met at Newbury Comics for an affordable price.

Don’t want to spend a lot of money, but still want to enjoy Newbury Street? Check out one of the 30+ art galleries scattered throughout the area! See more traditional works from masters like Renoir and Rembrandt at the Galerie D’Orsay. Looking for something more contemporary? Explore Gallery NAGA for experimental and avant-garde furniture art or the Arden Gallery for abstract, surrealism, and minimalist art!

Want even more out of Newbury Street? For the second year in a row, Newbury Street will be closed down to vehicles and open to only pedestrians on August 13th! Enjoy extra outdoor seating at restaurants, outdoor activities, and take in the atmosphere of Newbury street. Can’t make it this month? Open Newbury will return on September 10th!
