NU Bucket List #66: Boston Comic Con

Cosplayers, comic books, celebrities, oh my! Boston Comic Con is returning to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. For the 10th year in a row, you can enjoy art, fan merch, and so much more at Boston’s premiere comic book event. Read on and you’ll see you don’t need to go all the way out to San Diego for a great comic convention!

This year’s Comic Con will feature a shopping area over 100,000 square feet in size! Specializing in all things comics, gaming, science fiction, and anime, one of the 500 different retailers in this area will have the merch you are looking for. Not interested in shopping? Head to the exhibitor area to test out brand new products, get free samples, and enter contests for cool prizes from a variety of different companies!

It wouldn’t be a comic con without costumes! Thousands of amazing superhero, science fiction, and anime costumes can be found at the convention. If you come dressed up, head to the Cosplay Photo Park to have your picture taken in front of a themed background of your choice! Think your costume is the best? Click here to find out how to enter this year’s costume contest!

Want the chance to meet one of your favorite celebrities? Boston Comic Con is the place! Get your picture taken with stars like Marvel’s Stan Lee, Doctor Who’s Matt Smith, and Star Trek’s Karl Urban! Actors who voice characters such as Fry from Futurama and D.Va from Overwatch will also appear at a voice actor live script reading. Listen to these talented voice actors do what they’re best at and read funny lines and scripts in their characters voices!
Every week, we post one more thing you MUST do before you graduate Northeastern. Tag us in/tweet us a picture of you doing our thing of the week, and you could get featured on our twitter or instagram, or win some pretty awesome prizes (including your favorite Husky swag)! #NUbucketlist
