NU Bucket List #81: See a Student Show

Love musicals and plays and supporting your fellow huskies? Then you have to check out a show put on by Northeastern students at least once before you graduate! There are so many incredible performing arts groups on campus there’s no way we could cover them all in one post. Read on for just a sneak peek into the kinds of performing arts groups Northeastern has to offer!

Northeastern Shakespeare Society

If you love plays, the Northeastern Shakespeare Society is the performing arts group for you! The Northeastern Shakespeare Society aims to increase the accessibility of Shakespeare’s plays to the Northeastern community through their free performances. All of their shows are directed, designed, and performed by Northeastern students. This weekend, they’ll be putting on the Shakespeare classic, Macbeth, for free!  Tickets are free and can be found here.

NU Stage Musical Theatre Company

NU Stage puts on several shows each semester, including cabarets, a revue, and a musical. The club’s second cabaret is this December, and will be a collection of songs and monologues related to the theme of “Identity”. This semester’s musical is the smash hit Heathers, premiering in December! The revue, Unsung Heroes, premieres this weekend, and will feature a variety of songs from shows like Hamilton and the Book of Mormon all related to being an underdog. Tickets are free for Northeastern students and can be found on myNEU.

Department of Theatre

Northeastern’s Department of Theatre sponsors a variety of shows and groups on campus such as Silver Masque. For the rest of this week, the Department of Theatre is sponsoring performances of the play Middletown. Tickets to see Middletown are $8 for Northeastern students and $12 for non Northeastern students. They can be purchased on myNEU!

Every week, we post one more thing you MUST do before you graduate Northeastern. Tag us in/tweet us a picture of you doing our thing of the week, and you could get featured on our twitter or instagram, or win some pretty awesome prizes (including your favorite Husky swag)! #NUbucketlist
