NU Bucket List #89: Beanpot Tournament

The Men’s Hockey team has done it! After beating Boston College in the semifinals, the huskies are headed to the championship game of the beloved Beanpot tournament. This year, our huskies are looking to end Northeastern’s 30 year Beanpot title drought! To learn more about this year’s Beanpot and the history of the tournament, read on!

Since 1952, the first two Monday nights of February have been reserved for the Beanpot tournament! This annual hockey tournament pits Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, and Northeastern against each other to compete for the championship title. But the win brings more than just a trophy, it brings celebration, school pride, and of course, year long bragging rights!

On Monday February 5th, Northeastern and BC faced off at 5pm and Harvard and BU faced off at 8pm.The huskies came out on top, beating BC 3-0, and sending them to the championship game! Now, Northeastern will face our biggest Boston rival, Boston University, on February 12th. The huskies are in a great position to capture the championship title this year, and they are sure to play an incredible game!

Didn’t get your Beanpot tickets in advance? Not to worry! From 10am-3pm TODAY you can grab a student ticket at the Matthews Arena ticket office! Be sure you don’t forget to bring your NUID and remember that you’re limited to one ticket per person.
