NU Bucket List #95: Boston Public Market
With all of these cold and rainy April days, it’s been hard to enjoy some of the amazing open markets that Boston has to offer in the springtime. But there is one iconic market that you can enjoy all year long no matter the weather – the Boston Public Market! From fresh produce to yummy bakeries, read on to find out all the amazing things the Boston Public Market has to offer
Getting to the market is as easy as hopping on the Orange Line -the market is located directly above the Haymarket stop! Inside the market you can find over 35 Massachusetts based farmers, fishers, and food entrepreneurs! Aside from food products, you can also find things like candles, skin care products, artisan flowers, and yarn created using local resources! You can shop around the market on Monday-Saturday from 8am-8pm and from 10am-6pm on Sundays!
Want to learn more about how to cook with all of the incredible foods you can find at the Boston Public Market? Head over to The KITCHEN, a community gathering place at the Boston Public Market. At The KITCHEN, you can enjoy events, classes, and workshops that celebrate local farmers and artisans. Some activities include demos and tastings, classes taught by professional chefs, and health and wellness programs. Click here for a full list of all upcoming events in The KITCHEN.
You can also enjoy events almost every day of the week at the Boston Public Market! Click here to see the calendar showing all the events happening at the market in the coming weeks. If you’re looking for something to do this upcoming weekend for free, check out the Boston Public Market Agricultural Festival on April 22nd from 10am-4pm. Celebrate Earth day and the beginning of the spring growing season with activities like pressing apples for cider, making your own custom flower crowns, and eating chocolate dirt pudding!
Every week, we post one more thing you MUST do before you graduate Northeastern. Tag us in/tweet us a picture of you doing our thing of the week, and you could get featured on our twitter or instagram, or win some pretty awesome prizes (including your favorite Husky swag)! #NUbucketlist
