NU Bucket List #97: Secret Garden Spots

Spring is in full swing and it looks like the sunshine and warmth are here to stay! What better way to enjoy the weather than to get out and explore some of the many gardens Boston has to offer! We all know about the Boston Public Garden, but check out the list below to learn about some lesser known garden spots around the city!

Cambridge Center Roof Garden

Hidden on the top of a parking garage at 4 Cambridge Center is the Cambridge Center Roof Garden! Follow the paths throughout the gardens to see all the beautifully maintained plant life this secret space has to offer. Bring some lunch and sit on one of the garden’s many benches and picnic tables and enjoy the incredible view of Boston and Cambridge six stories up!

James P. Kelleher Rose Garden

If you’re looking for roses, the James P. Kelleher Rose Garden is the place for you! Tucked away right by campus in the Fens, the Kelleher Rose Garden is home to over 1,500 roses! Grab a seat on one of the garden’s benches and enjoy some time in the peace and quiet of this hidden gem.

The Rose Kennedy Rose Garden

Just steps away from the Boston Aquarium in the middle of Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park is The Rose Kennedy Rose Garden! Here, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of Boston harbor surrounded by the smells of hundreds of beautiful roses!  While you’re at the garden, be sure to check out the Rose Kennedy Memorial Fountain at one of the entrances to the garden and toss in a penny to make a wish!
