All the fun/cheap/life-changing events happening this week around Beantown, just a hop, skip, and a jump from campus! This week, we are highlighting all of the philanthropy events happening around campus, hosted by various organizations!
Sunday, October 9th – Color Run
Kappa Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon are hosting a charity color run benefitting the Tobin Community Center. It costs only $8 to get a fire Instagram post and give back to the community! Come out to Centennial this Sunday at 11 am with a white shirt and sneakers. Sign up to run here.
Monday, October 10th – Dunk-a-Delt
Take your stress out on your favorite (or least favorite) brother of Delta Tau Delta as they fundraise money with their annual dunk tank event. With a high of 57 degrees, they are bearing the cold for their national philanthropy, JDFR! $2 for 1 throw, $5 for 3 or $7 to guarantee someone gets dunked.
Tuesday, October 11th – Rosie’s Place Clothing Drive
Sigma Delta Tau and Kappa Sigma are holding a clothing drive for Rosie’s Place starting Tuesday! Do some ~fall cleaning in your closet and bring your used clothing items to Centennial from 11am – 4pm on any of those days. All items will go towards local women in need of a place to stay.
Wednesday, October 12th – Krispy Kreme Fundraiser
The iconic Curry fundraiser is back again this semester! The brothers of Sigma Beta Rho will be selling a dozen donuts for $10, benefiting SOS Children’s Village. You can hunt them down at the Curry Crossroads on 10/11, 10/12 and 10/13 from 11am – 4pm, or until supplies last.
Thursday, October 13th – Wish-in-One with Chi O
Join the sisters of Chi Omega, Northeastern’s newest addition to the Panhellenic community, at their first ever philanthropy event! Try your hand at mini golf this Thursday and see if you can get the lowest score! Tickets can be purchased 10/11 and 10/12 from 10am – 4pm in the library quad, which benefit Make a Wish America.
Friday, October 14th – Double Chin Fundraiser
Let’s be honest, the best way to give back to the community is by eating good food. Kappa Phi Lambda is hosting a fundraiser at Double Chin HK Cafe, an Asian fusion restaurant thatsis just recently opened up near Chinatown. 10% of proceeds will go towards their national philanthropy, CARE.
Saturday, October 15th
Sigma Kappa and Northeastern’s Varsity baseball team are teaming together to support the Alzheimer’s Association, Sigma Kappa Foundation and Kids Kicking Cancer. Make a team of 5 for $25 and participate in their softball tournament! Tickets available here.
Yes summer is over, but that doesn’t mean that cornhole is over. Delta Zeta is hosting a cornhole tournament and BBQ to benefit their national philanthropies, this Saturday on Centennial! Sign up to compete here.
