Assistant Director: The Assistant Director of the Office of Prevention and Education at Northeastern (OPEN) will be a member of a collaborative team responsible for prevention, education, and training related to: alcohol and other drugs, sexual violence, sexual health and other wellness-related initiatives for the Northeastern University student community. The role includes assisting in implementing a comprehensive, research-driven, culturally relevant, and in-depth prevention programming to create long-lasting change for the campus community. The Assistant Director will act in a direct service role providing assessment and brief intervention services for students referred for alcohol and other drug use. They will also serve as a Confidential Resource Advisor in the Sexual Violence Resource Center, an entry point for student affected by sexual violence. The Assistant Director will provide training and secondary supervision to graduate and work-study students at OPEN. They will provide customized presentations to students, faculty and staff on topics related to alcohol and other drugs and sexual violence prevention. Clinical Social Work Internships

OPEN has provided clinical supervision and training to social work interns for over ten years.   Social work interns have the opportunity to learn Motivational Interviewing skills, provide services related to substance use and/or to be trained to provide services within OPEN’s Sexual Violence Resource Center.

OPEN typically accepts two second year interns.  Interviews occur in the early spring for the following academic year.  If interested, please work with your university field placement office and/or email your resume directly to open@northeastern.edu by the end of January.
