June 15th: Town Hall Forum to Hear the Voices of Our Community
Northeastern is hosting a virtual town hall forum to provide students the opportunity to share thoughts and suggestions about action steps for combating racism and making Northeastern a more inclusive community. The event will start at 4pm and will be led by the co-chairs of Northeastern’s presidential Council on Diversity & Inclusion, Uta Poiger (Dean of the College of Social Sciences & Humanities) and James Hackney (Dean of the Law School). The forum will be held on Microsoft Teams at this link and access to the event will be on a first come first served basis as space is limited.
June 16th: D’Amore-McKim COVID-19 Resilience Talk: The Perspective from Emerging Ventures
Interested in learning about the challenges emerging ventures are facing as a result of the ongoing pandemic? Tune into another talk in D’Amore-McKim’s COVID-19 Resilience series featuring three emerging ventures (not startups) founded by Northeastern alumni in conversation about their experience facing the COVID crisis. June 18th: Police Agency Reform: What Does It Look Like?
Join the College of Professional Studies for a faculty-led conversation featuring Jack McDevitt, PhD, Director of the Institute on Race and Justice, to discuss Police reform and what that looks like in these times. The conversation will be held on Zoom and will start at 4pm. Click here to register.
June 19th: Zoomin’ in on Leocadia Zak ’82: Leading in Times of Crisis
This week, the Northeastern Law’s Zoomin’ in alumni/ae spotlight series is featuring Leocadia Zak ‘82. Zak will be joined by Mielle Marquis, Northeastern Law’s director of external relations, for a conversation on leading in times of crisis. The discussion will begin at 11am. June 20th: NU Kinematix Summer Workshops: Mahin Master
Join NU Kinematix for their Summer Workshop series being streamed on Instagram live @nukinematix! This week’s workshop will be taught by Mahin Master at 5pm. While the workshop is free, you are encouraged to venmo @nukinematix to donate to this week’s featured charity, the Audre Lorde Project, which is a “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans, and Gender-Non Conforming People of Color community organizing center, focusing on the NY City Area.”
