May 26th-28th: Garden of Flags

Boston’s iconic Garden of Flags is back!  All Memorial Day weekend long you can head to the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Boston Common to see a garden of over 37,000 flags. Each flag is planted in honor of each and every Massachusetts service member who has died since the Revolutionary War. The garden will be in the common until the evening of Memorial Day, so be sure to see it before it’s gone!

May 26th: Free Ferry Day

Celebrate the opening day of the Boston Harbor Islands with a free ferry ride! The free ride will take you to either Spectacle or Georges Island right from Boston’s Long Wharf-North. Festivities will begin at 9am on the wharf and free tickets are first come first serve!

May 27th: Lion Dance Parade

Head over to the Chinatown Gate to see the US Dragon and Lion Dance Federation’s incredible Lion Dance Parade! The parade will begin at 5:30 and will end at Empire Garden Restaurant!

May 28th: Cambridge Memorial Day Parade

Spend your Memorial Day morning enjoying Cambridge’s annual Memorial Day Parade! The parade will begin at 9:30am with a cannon salute on the Cambridge Common. It well then travel through Harvard Square, up Mount Auburn Street to Coolidge Avenue, and end at the Cambridge Cemetery on Coolidge Avenue where a Memorial Day Observance will be held at 11am.
