Senior Vice Chancellor for Student Life
Madeleine joined Northeastern in 2008, first as executive director of University Health and Counseling Services, before serving as associate vice president for Student Affairs, dean of students, vice president for Student Affairs, and now Senior Vice Chancellor for Student Life. She is responsible for programs and services that provide students with opportunities to develop holistically and prepare them for a life of fulfillment and service to others, and serves as senior advisor for the global student experience on the President’s Cabinet. Prior to Northeastern, Madeleine was as partner at Edwards and Angell and counsel at Edwards, Angell, Palmer & Dodge. She served as chief operating officer and general counsel of a specialty pharmacy benefit management services company. She received her AB in Government from Dartmouth College and her JD from Boston College Law School.
Dr. Chong Kim-Wong
Dean of Students
Chong serves as the Dean of Students at Northeastern University. In her role she is focused on the overall student experience. Her goal is to make the student experience the best it can be – by understanding what students love; what needs improvement or support; and what new ideas can be explored. Dr. Kim-Wong joined Northeastern in 2007 and has served in the division of Student Life in various departments, including residential life, housing services, and cultural and spiritual life. Prior to arriving at Northeastern, Chong received her Bachelor of Science in secondary education and her Master of Education from the University of Vermont. A “Double Husky,” she earned her Master’s in Business Administration and doctorate in education from Northeastern University. A committed educator, Chong also serves as an adjunct faculty member and dissertation chair in the College of Professional Studies Doctoral of Education program.
Michele Grab
Vice Chancellor of Network and New Initiatives
Michele joined Northeastern in August 2021 as Vice Chancellor of Network and New Initiatives. In this role, she oversees the Center for Student Involvement, Orientation & Family Programs, Events & Venues, Student Veteran services, and helps coordinate the student experience throughout the Global Northeastern network. In previous roles at Arizona State University, the University of Pennsylvania and Carnegie Mellon University she oversaw sexual violence prevention education, family programs, student organizations, student union facilities, leadership programs, gender related and women in engineering programs. Michele holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
Dan Solworth
Vice Chancellor of Wellness & Student Success
Dan joined Northeastern in August of 2021 as Vice Chancellor of Wellness & Student Success, overseeing University Health & Counseling Services, Office of Prevention & Education at Northeastern (OPEN), Office for University Equity and Compliance, Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, We Care-Student Support Services, Disability Resource Center, Learning Disabilities Program, and Student Athlete Support Services. As a Vice Chancellor, Dan focusses on the holistic wellness of Northeastern learners, and the units that promote and cultivate physical, emotional, psychological and overall well-being; positioning students for success inside the classroom and growth within the community. Dan has previously served as an administrator at Boston University (BU), working as part of the Residence Life team, Office of the Provost, Educational Resource Center, and finally as Chief of Staff and Director of Operations for the Division of Student Affairs. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Education in Policy, Planning and Administration, both from Boston University.
Maura Mahoney
Assistant Vice Chancellor Student Life Operations
As a strategic mobilizer of resources and support, Maura collaborates with the Student Life leadership team in the execution and implementation of Student Life plans, provides tactical guidance on staffing decisions and processing, as well as oversees and directs financial and operational planning. In addition, Maura oversees the Northeastern University Student Health Plan (NUSHP). Maura has been a member of the Northeastern community since 2004 in progressively more responsible roles.
Bob Jose
Dean for Cultural and Spiritual Life
Bob serves as the Dean for Cultural and Spiritual Life. In his role, he works closely with the John D. O’Bryant African American Institute, The Asian American Center, The Latinx Center, The Center for Spirituality, Dialogue and Service, The Social Justice Resource Center, The LGBTQA Resource Center, The Center for Intercultural Engagement, NU Hillel, The Catholic Center and The Office of Global Services to advance their work across the Northeastern Network. As Dean he serves as a member of the President’s Cabinet as Senior Advisor for Diversity and Inclusion. A 30+ year veteran of higher education, Bob has a deep passion for enhancing the experience of all students. He strongly believes that the key to inclusivity is building understanding, and that educating across differences & developing skills in empathy-based engagement must be priorities if students are going to be successful.
Emily Hardman
Assistant Dean of Student Programming & Communications
Emily joined Northeastern in 2001 and currently serves as Assistant Dean of Student Programming and Communications. She leads communications for the Division of Student Life and oversees the unit’s digital presence and marketing efforts, and social media. She also helps coordinate large-scale university-wide events, Northeastern traditions and staff programs. Emily directs the Huntington 100 student recognition program and collaborates withe the Office of the President, Advancement, External Affairs, Athletics and others on programming. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Northeastern and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Alfred University in New York.
Francesca Cimilluca
Associate Director of Finance and Administration
Francesca graduated from Temple University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Art History with minors in Business Administration and Political Science. Francesca joined the Northeastern University Student Affairs team in 2018 and has been with the team ever since. Her main duties involve overseeing budget operations for UHCS, Residential Life, and the Northeastern University Student Health Plan. Along with managing daily office operations, and the administrative staff. She is currently finishing up her last year of her MBA program at D’Amore-McKim and is set to graduate May 2023.
Ally McNamee
Communications Manager
Ally joined the Northeastern community in September of 2021 as Administrative Coordinator for Student Affairs. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Health Science & Health Promotion from Keene State College. Ally works assists with planning and operations for Student Affairs. Her main area of focus with the Northeastern University Student Health Plan, where she assists with the communications, operations, and marketing.
Ariana Brody
Executive Assistant
Ariana joined Northeastern in August 2018. In her current role as Executive Assistant, Ariana provides day-to-day administrative support to the Student Life leadership team. In her previous role at Northeastern, Ariana was Assistant to the President. Ariana comes to Northeastern from Harvard University where she served as project coordinator in the Office of the President and Provost. Ariana earned her undergraduate degree from Northeastern and will receive her Master of Education in Administration from Northeastern in May 2023. Outside of work, Ariana is passionate about all areas of wellness, including fitness, mindfulness, nutrition and is a 500-hour certified yoga teacher.
Anna Foulks
Administrative Assistant
Anna joined Northeastern University from Salt Lake City, Utah in January of 2023 as the Administrative Assistant for the Office for Student Life. In this role, she coordinates calendars, events and reservations; assists with communications, materials, programming and budgeting; and oversees office management. She previously served as a Research Associate for the Department of Political Science at the University of Utah and conducted a piano studio in the Greater Salt Lake area. In her spare time, she is an avid swimmer and a classical pianist. Anna holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in international studies, Spanish and philosophy and a minor in music from the University of Utah and aspires to attend law school in the New England area.
